Supernatural

Folks....Supernatural is on Netflix!  You heard me right.  Sam and Dean Winchester at the touch of a button.  Let me just say, when I had my horrible cold, the boys took care of me.  They make me laugh and fight off all of my fears lol.

Okay, so that might be an overstatement.  The Winchester's have kept me entertained though.  I have seen the first 5 seasons before, but I am a huge fan of re-watching my favorites and this is definitely one of my favorites.  It's the perfect mix of sci-fi, laughter and scare with family drama added in.  The first 5 seasons are the best though.  The show was only meant to last that long and the episodes after it aren't nearly as good, but I am still intrigued about the newest episodes.

Happy Endings

I have a new favorite T.V. show.....

Nick and I have fallen in love with this show over this past T.V. season.  We started watching in season 2 and have kept up with it regularly (which is odd for us).  There are only a few shows that we watch every week these days.

Happy Endings is hilarious.  It follows six friends that live in Chicago.  Their lives mingle with each others in a mix of pop culture references and "ahh-mah-zing" situations.

Do you have any new shows that you love?

Discoveries

Things I have learned in October:

1. If I thought September was busy, I never dreamed of October!

2. I love whipped cream cheese on an everything bagel.

3. Coffee keeps me alive.

4. Making food with friends and hanging out is more relaxing than watching T.V. by myself.

5. I want a comfy oversized sweater... like this one from Gap:

6. Fall/Autumn feels like home.

7. I get wrapped up accomplishing lists and forget to blog.

On Our TV

Over the past two months, Nick and I have watched Numb3rs like it was our job.  We love the show, the "math vision" and the characters.  The majority of the characters are quirky and smart and eccentric, but I think we like the dynamic.  The show focuses on two brothers solving crimes using their own specific skill sets.  One brother is an FBI agent and the other is a mathematician.

Our problem, however, is that we are done with the show.  We watched them all.  So, last night we started watching Mad Men.  I am not sure how I feel about the show yet.  The views are so old, and by old, I mean offensive to this progressive/slightly feminist woman who would slap a man for the way they behave on this show.  Okay, I know that was intense, but seriously, I cannot decide how I feel about this show.  I am sure it is good, if I could stop my blood from boiling for 5 seconds while watching it.

So, what are you watching, or how do you feel about Mad Men?

What's Been Going On

Okay, so it has been a long time since I posted....

I'm sorry!!!

For the most part, I've just been really really busy, and I wanted blogging to be fun and it became another responsibility.  I have adjusted some things in my schedule, however, because I love blogging.  So here is what you have missed...

Nick and I have been reading Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.  You know, the one that has become a show on HBO.  It is pretty good so far, although, Martin is brutal to his characters.

We planted a small garden.  I have two pots with flowers and a long one with herbs.  Nick also planted a small pot with cat grass for Sophie.  She LOVES it.  We have to take it away every once and a while otherwise she would pull the roots out. (I'll be back with photos later)

Over the Easter holiday, we bought new bedroom furniture from IKEA.  It makes the rest of the house seem less homey, because our bedroom is the way we want it.  I love it so much.

I plan on going into more detail about all of this over the next few weeks, but I thought I at least owed you an update.

Dreams

So I've had this dream, to own an Inn.  It all started with my obsession with Gilmore Girls.  I love this show.  It is witty, smart and the mother daughter relationship between Lorelai and Rory is very similar to my relationship with my mother.

In the show, Sookie and Lorelai open an Inn together.  It is beautiful and amazing, and I want to own one...someday.

The idea of feeding people and giving them a place to rest is very appealing to me.  I want my inn to be on the smaller side.  Maybe 20 rooms or so.  It will have a big library/sitting room and dining room.  The furniture will be comfy and welcoming.  The whole idea just makes me happy and warm inside.

Nick is on board with the idea too.  Every once in a while, when we make an amazing breakfast, he will say "this will be perfect for our inn."

In my dream, Nick and I live nearby.  Near enough to solve problems, but far enough away that we have a life separate from the inn.  We can't decide if we should wait to own the inn until we are older or if it is something we want to do when we still have kids in the house.

Either way, there is a lot that we need to do before we can own an inn.  For one, we need to save.  I also need more experience.  Have I mentioned before that I graduated with a degree in Hospitality and Food Management.  I've got a lot of food knowledge, but I need to learn more on the hotel/hospitality side before we jump into this endeavor.

What dreams do you have?

Missed It

I missed them....all of them!

My day off turned into an evening shift at one of my jobs.  As a result, I missed all of my shows.

I also watch Bones, but it is on at the same time as Grey's so I watch it online during the week.

What shows are you addicted to?

Out of Commission

I have been out of commission since Sunday.  As a result, Nick has taken over house duties, as well as entertaining-Lauren duties.  He has stepped up to the plate nicely.  He made me chili and has done the dishes and laundry (well kinda).

Since I have been on sitting rest, I've been thinking of my favorite TV Shows and have been Netflix-ing them like it is my job.  So here goes:

Now sadly, Netflix would not let me watch all of them instantly on the Wii, but I was able to watch all of Bones.  I just thought I would go ahead and mention some of my other favorites.
