So I've had this dream, to own an Inn. It all started with my obsession with Gilmore Girls. I love this show. It is witty, smart and the mother daughter relationship between Lorelai and Rory is very similar to my relationship with my mother.
In the show, Sookie and Lorelai open an Inn together. It is beautiful and amazing, and I want to own one...someday.
The idea of feeding people and giving them a place to rest is very appealing to me. I want my inn to be on the smaller side. Maybe 20 rooms or so. It will have a big library/sitting room and dining room. The furniture will be comfy and welcoming. The whole idea just makes me happy and warm inside.
Nick is on board with the idea too. Every once in a while, when we make an amazing breakfast, he will say "this will be perfect for our inn."
In my dream, Nick and I live nearby. Near enough to solve problems, but far enough away that we have a life separate from the inn. We can't decide if we should wait to own the inn until we are older or if it is something we want to do when we still have kids in the house.
Either way, there is a lot that we need to do before we can own an inn. For one, we need to save. I also need more experience. Have I mentioned before that I graduated with a degree in Hospitality and Food Management. I've got a lot of food knowledge, but I need to learn more on the hotel/hospitality side before we jump into this endeavor.
What dreams do you have?

California Here We Come
Life has been fairly busy and drab and just plain old tiring lately, so I decided to do a post about one of the best spring breaks I have ever had.
My mom and step-dad moved out to California a few years ago, and my sweet Lindsey and I decided to visit her for spring break. Here are some of my favorite pictures from our trip. Linds and I were tired and hungry the whole vacation, but we had such a great time. Nick and I hope to take a trip out there sometime in the late spring or early summer.
California Here We Come was our anthem on that vacation!

Coming to an End
College is almost over. In fact, today is my last day of classes at BSU EVER! I'm excited and scared and proud.
Graduation is on Dec. 18! I will be graduating with a degree in hospitality and food management with a minor in travel and tourism. I picked up my cords and medal the other day too.
My mom and step-dad sent me flowers to congratulate me on my Summa Cum Laude medal. They are beautiful.

Autopilot
Today, I am on autopilot. I am going to class and accomplishing things, but in that slow pace that makes you just want to crawl back onto the comfy chair in the library that you love (mind you my chair is currently taken).
The weather, amount of reading and sleepiness of the day all scream nap time. So...I am blogging. I am using this time to take a break from homework and all of my duties to give a shout out to the gloomy, cool weather and the comfy chair that is taken.
Oh, how I wish Bracken made a better Chai Tea Latte.
I think that I need to get better at this blogging thing. I'm not really sure how to accomplish that though. Well here is a start at least....

"And now I may dismiss my heroine to the sleepless couch,
which is the true heroine's portion;
to a pillow strewed with thorns and wet with tears."
